Talking to media persons after the meeting, CPN (UML) Vice-Chairman Bhim Bahadur Rawal said that consensus was forged among three parties regarding the structure of local bodies. Rawal said, “We put our party’s views. We told that the CPN (UML) will be flexible if the government is in favour of holding local bodies election soon. A meeting of the major three parties held at official residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar forged the consensus in this regard. The meeting was held at the call of PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Sunday evening.The meeting reviewed the activities of the Local Body Restructuring Commission (LBRC), and agreed to urge the LBRC to restructure the local bodies based on the number and border of the old units, said Chief Political Advisor to Prime Minister, Chankrapani Khanal. “Agreement is made in principle to determine the number and border of the local bodies based on the structure of the past local units,” added Mr Khanal.
