Similarly the situtation behind Bal Bahadur Theeng is the same. Bala Bahadur Theeng from Thulo Dhurlung, Lalitpur has arrived to Kalanki Khasi Bazar to sell his three goats. The goats reared and made healthy since months ago are brought to be sold there so that he could manage to buy some clothing stuffs for his family in this Dashain festival.
Goats are even brought to the Khasi Bazar from India. Due to this, the goat market from inside the nation has gone in loss. Nepali farmers are forced to sell their goats in unexpectedly low amount and therefore have very tight expenses for the goods to celebrated Dashain festival.Dashain is onset and the citizens across the nation are too busy shopping, buying groceries and new clothes for their families. However the environment of Khasi Bazaar (Goat’s market) seems miserable.
Goats are brought to Kathmandu in huge numbers during Dashain as consumption of meat soars during the festival season. They are brought from different parts of the nation with a view of earning certain amount from the goats. The footage shows some of the people who have arrived to Kalanki, Kathmandu from different villages to sell their goats.
Video shows Sudarshan Rana with two goats beside him in Kalanki Khasi Bazaar. He is from Tayal Ghar, Dhading and it is only the source of income for him and his family to celebrate Dashain festival. He says with the amount he would earn from the goats, he would be buying grocery goods for his family and if the amount is enough then he could afford for new clothes for his family’s members.
