The tradition’s provenance dates more than two centuries back when Gorkha’s King Prithvinarayan Shah commenced his royal proceedings from Hanumandhoka Durbar following the conquest of Kantipur.A team led by Durbar’s official Amrit Kunwar is transporting the Fulpati to Kathmandu. It was brought on foot to Sattipipal area by the officials.The Fulpati is an assortment of nine ingredients called ‘Navapatriva’ which includes banana stalks, pomegranate, rice stalks, wood apple tree plant, among others. The Brahmins bring the Fulpati to Kathmandu from Gorkha wrapped inside a red cloth.offerings and homage for Kathmandu’s Hanumandhoka Durbar.Gorkha Durbar Care and Management Unit Chief, Ganesh Bhattarai, said the Fulpati, an assortment of flowers, leaves and plants, was sent for Hanumandhoka on a Bolero jeep with registration no Ga 2 Cha 2574.The Fulpati will be received at the Hanumandhoka Durbar and given access inside amidst a ceremony this evening.
