A 23-year-old woman has lodged a complaint of r@pe against her brother-in-law with the women’s police station in Rajkot city. According to police, the woman, a resident of Kuchiyadad village near Rajkot, who now lives with her parents in the Jangleshwar area of the city, alleged that her brother-in-law Vipul Chauhan raped her twice in the last two months and threatened her to kill if she told anyone. She married Vijay Chauhan six months ago but she returned to her maternal home because of alleged physical and mental harassment by her in-laws. She also lodged a second complaint against her husband Vijay, mother-in-law Ranjan and father-in-law Puna Chauhan for mental harassment. She also accused Puna Chauhan of physical abuse. Women’s police lodged two complaints and began a probe in this case. The accused are farm labourers and residents of Kuchiyadad village.
