Fighter Pilot’s Ejections Seconds Before Disasters

Often ejection will fracture vertebrae (which bloody hurts let me tell you, and not just for the time it’s broken, it hurts for ages afterwards – possibly career ending in the case of a fighter pilot) and those impacts with only a second of a fully deployed parachute don’t bear thinking about.Some of those are at low altitude and don’t appear to be zero ejector seats. I can’t imagine the injuries they sustained.
